I hate it if I'm not with any of my pals in a class. Not only does it make it a bit more difficult, but when the groups form, I'm left there standing and I have no idea what to do and am forced into a group (and usually one I don't like).

Oh I hate that too, it happens to me in almost all of my classes when we have to work in groups.

Yeah, definitely not a fan of the groups either. That is, unless the group I am in is mostly comprised of people I know, and that we can make an agreement to basically alternate on who does the work on a given week.

If that's not the case, I'm stuck in a group of people I don't know, I feel like I end up doing a lot of the work, and I feel like because they are so disorganized that the whole "group" setting eventually ends up slowing me down.

I wouldn't mind being in a group of people I don't like right now. It could be fun to spread whatever plague I seem to have right now. Biological warfare FTW.

Yeah, this happens so often. I'm never in a group where someone takes the initiative. What an insult to injury.

Oh, I hate that so much. In my math class, we are forced into groups, or we have the option of working alone. I usually work by myself, but the girl behind me is actually a decent, non popular-and-know-it person.
I am so sick of getting forced into groups, though, that either a) hate me and are all......NT!! !! OR b) they never do ANYTHING and I do it ALL and they usually take ALL the credit.
*sigh*
I hope college life gets much easier.

I love working in groups! Especially in my Spanish class, because now we have an odd seating arrangement that puts us with a partner. But in most other classes, group projects usually involve me doing all the work and everyone else just goofing off

I always think I'm not doing enough to contribute since I don't get along with strangers that well.

I hate working in groups. Either A) I do all the working/thinking because I am either more intelligent/more serious about the work (or both) or B) Noone lets me talk, and then they act like I am not contributing to the discussion.

I hate working in groups too; especially ones where the group is graded as a whole.

My biology teacher last year was the only teacher who I've ever had who managed to make group projects bearable. He arranged our class by who actually did work, tried to group everyone with other people who were about the same intelligence level, and graded everyone individually. My group that year was excellent, and we got along really well. Now it's back to whichever group needs one more person.

I don't mind the occasional group project - I realize that once in awhile a goup project is necessary and/or benefical. I just don't apperciate being forced into groups for every single WS and lab (*chem*).

Actually, I'm more comfortable being the one who does all the work. That way it won't be a repeat of various horrible projects (one of which composed of my group getting in front of the class to inform everyone that we were going to use laughing gas on a zoo alligator, transport him back to the school, and teach him to gaurd our moats without killing any of us. [It was survival, the world has crashed scenario that related to a book we were reading.] I was so stunned I couldn't speak. As one of my more sympathetic classmates told me later, I "said 30 words and half of them were um"). I would much rather make the effort and pass the class even if it means the rest of my group will pass too.
