Has anyone had a good experience sending their child to or attending a Waldorf inspired Charter school? I have a client who is transitioning from a public school kindergarten to a Waldorf-inspired Charter School. He has an aide all day to help support him with behavior management and sensory regulation. He always needed that help in the public schools, but we are wondering if anyone has ever had a special ed aide help out in a Waldorf style setting. The school is concerned about how that might work in this type of setting. If so, we would LOVE to hear your stories so we can share it with our new team. THANKS!

My dream was to send my child to a waldorf school and at the time I did not realize he had Asperger's. We sent him to our local waldorf school at age 4 but it did not work out due to my child's social issues. Although lovely and wonderful for many reasons, Waldorf really isn't a great fit for an Aspie. The foundation of their early childhood program is IMAGINATIVE PLAY. My child had a difficult time with this and (like most/all on the spectrum) he looked at things literally and did not play "make-believe". Montessori would be a better for for a child with Asperger's IMHO.
