I want to go back to school and would like your opinion on it.
Here is my background: I started college in 96 as an Agriculture Education major. I was hoping to teach agriculture overseas in a peace corps type program. Then I was diagnosed with bipolar type 2. I added a Computer information systems minor. I also changed to a general agriculture major at the insistence of my parents. I had to drop out of a few semesters I started and finally graduated in 02.
I had a lot of trouble finding a job. I could not get a job in agriculture with my general degree (most people graduate with a specialization.) I had no experience in the computer field but eventually found work doing tech support over the phone. I know it could be worse but I'm disappointed at where my life is at.
I've considered getting a masters in library science. I really like working with information and think I would be good at it. I have checked a couple of schools and I have missed the application dates for this year. I also can't tell the probability of getting in. I don't want to place all my eggs in one basket and then not get in. I can't remember my GRE score right now but think it was good. My worry is that I only have a 3.1 GPA undergrad.
I would also be willing to go back and get another bachelors degree if I could be SURE I could get a job with it.
Back when I changed my major I also considered: geography, GIS, computer science, geology, engineering, and architecture. Not sure how realistic all those are but that's what I considered.
Any suggestions or comments will be very appreciated.
Thanks
