I come from Norway and work as programmer at an oil company.

I have researched this quite allot I plan to take a future in astrophysics through this education.

This type of education is more that I see that I have a chance in, this does not mean its easier then the current university education that runs on semesters. Its just demonstrating what you know in a different approach without the need for grades. I have done allot of research on this type of education and see that some universities in the US and Canada have started to use this type of education in some Science educations.

But the thing is I think it can take quite some time before an astrophysics education starts adapting to this approach if ever.

Has anyone else heard of this type of education.

I haven't heard of this type of education... but it has to be better than education based on who is the biggest show off.
