Basically, I came across this story on a website of humorous and interesting school stories. I'm glad I read it as it prompted me to learn about my autism and did research and learned of the true story of Wendy Portillo (I'm sure you're all familiar with that one)

If this story is true, it begs the question, if this behavior enraged someone enough to pull her kids out of the school just witnessing it, why didn't the narrator's mother pull her out of school?

It rings of the truth. Whether or not it is actually true can not be determined.

And if it is true, then I would suspect that the narrator's parents were in on it, to the point of having given their approval.

Except in the story, she mentioned that her mother was furious at her treatment.

Later, I will start a thread about times our family have been on the bandwagon against us as I'm sure other Aspies have experienced that as well.

In that case, it wouldn't surprise me if the story turns out to be just another "Urban Legend".
