I left HS last March and then I left community college after being there for 3 days. I know deep down I'm not a "school person" but it's still depressing that everyone else is *grr* *AWAY* at school and I'm not. I really wanted to go away to school, especially because I realize that stay away college would be the best chance to get L**d and I get angry about that too because I don't want people to think that I actually agree with my family's Catholicism or that I'm some goody-goody because I'm not and I don't want to be.

I can't believe that there's such a thing as a "school person." Because I've gone to school with the most unbelievable idiots and slack a**es over the years that I think my one year old could attend classes and pass with a C.

Why not re-enroll in community college, aim to pass, and see what happens?

you could try online courses, they are generally more easier for the asperger person as there is zero face interaction(well the classes i took anyways). You pretty much have to teach yourself everything though, the instructor generally does post study notes and all that, and there usually forums where you can talk to the other people who are in the same course. It was easy for me. I did not finish college however as i have decided to pursue something else.. But yeah if i didnt change my orginal idea i probably would have finished it.

what is it that you miss about being at school, exactly? Are you just looking for an opportunity to lose your virginity without your parents knowing about it?

i know what you mean I tried to enroll in a community college but dropped out before the semester was over I kept getting too nervous and missing classes because I felt sick instead of being able to focus and study.

what do you like to do? maybe you could start using this time to focus on a hobby and get really really good at it i'm finally starting to work on some fanfics and I think using the time I could be in school for that can really help get better. Maybe focusing on that could help you too! :)

If you are waiting to get lucky with someone. I wouldn't think of college. I'm in it right now and so far not so lucky. :P maybe on a dating website.

OP: You should go back to community college. If its anything you can just work on getting subjects out of the way so you don't have to do none when you want to go to a uni. just a thought.

I completely understand not being able to do the whole school thing. I'm in college and I almost dropped out, but didn't in fear of what else I would do. I'm honestly miserable at my school and so poorly adjusted it's laughable. So I completely understand about not being a "school person." For me, what kills me is the being away from home and normalcy and the social environment at college. The schoolwork isn't bad for me, personally, but the social environment is really what gets me. Have you thought about online school?

I don't get why it is you Americans always study away from home. It's like if you have colleges in your home town, you'll study in another town. Is it because you all want to get away from your parents?

Nearly everyone I know in meatspace went to university in their own hometown while still living with their parents. Every morning I see students on the train travelling from home to campus and campus accommodation seems to be reserved for foreign students.

So why do you Americans go to college in a different town instead of your own town? Is it a part of your coming of age ritual?

OP, do you really want to go to college just so you can get L**d so you can prove you're not a Catholic or are their broader reasons?

Is it because all your school friends went to college and left you alone or because you feel inferior not having a college education or because you feel like you're missing out on the broad social experience of campus culture, etc? Or is it solely because college is the best place to get L**d?

I think the reason most of us Americans study away from home is because we like to go to the best school we get into, which is typically away from home. That's why I went to the college outside of my city, at least.

Ah, I see. Down here we always go to the closest university or the best one in our city (we get a handful to pick from).

Still, your system could have some advantages. I could've gotten away from my annoying parents a lot sooner. Down here hardly anyone moves out of home until they're more than twenty because they don't move out for college so there's no other reason for them to move out until they're about 22 or 23 and they've completed their studies.

I think in some ways it makes our campus culture poorer. However, there's less stress about college applications etc. It's only a matter off, will you have good enough grades to get into university (any), not will you have good enough grades to get into a particular college (Ivy League, etc).
