hey Gang,

I just got my new class schedule for the fall semester and found that I have been taken out of math class and placed in College and Career Readiness Prep with a totally different instructor So naturally I was wondering if anybody here would know what "College and Career Readiness Prep" means or what it may entail?

I dunno why they took me out of math I was making great progress Kinda confused.

This is all I found on it: Link

But I don't know what that means in terms of exactly what the course work might look like.

Not knowing more, it would seem a good change to me. But then I always welcomed anything to avoid a math course. :D

Maybe they think you're good enough at math now.

They may think that but in reality it couldn't be father from the truth I still can't get fractions I still have issues multiplying division forget about it I haven't mastered Geometry barely scraped the surface of Algebra and so on. As for writing less said the better.

I'll see what it's all about and if it's for me I'll stay if not I'll see if I can be re-staffed in a math class.

Perhaps the reason you were switched was because of low enrollment in the class or because you don't have the per-requisites completed in order to take that class?

^^ If it was something like that, they should inform you of why you were taken out of that class. Plus you should have been given a choice of what to replace it with: the class they suggested, a different math class, a class in another area, no class at all, etc. If they recommend you take that other class instead, they should tell you why plus tell you what that class entails, and make the decision whether to take that class up to you instead of enrolling you in it without your consent.

Maybe it was a mistake? If you can, try contacting the person who's in charge of scheduling your classes, and ask why you're not currently enrolled in that class. Ghoti brought up some good points...if you want to proceed with this career course, then I'd suggest emailing the professor and asking him/her for the syllabus. Or if your school utilizes WebCT/Blackboard etc, then try checking online first for the syllabus.

Hey guys, I tired reaching out to the dept that schedules classes got nowhere nobody answered couldn't leave messages I'm kinda guessing they are trying to move me out the door because I'm always requesting more math classes or requesting to be placed in a specific teacher's class So I'll go in on Monday and see what crapfeast this will be...this along with the new job at the college book store I hope my Autism doesn't make an unwanted guest appearance :-/

Hey Gang,

Well today was the first day of classes and it's still very weird to me the goal of this college is to help us get into an accredited classes or duel enrollment (more money for the college I'm taking classes in) I asked early on what about those of us (ahem me) that want to go to another tech college or a state college or want an internship to which I was told it would be best to take a related course at the college I'm at now so that I can build up credits and transfer them to another college so basically we spent the whole day doing nothing but testing my scores were in the too close to call range with only 2 being different one was most likely to pass and the other not likely to pass (yea it was math) so come this wens we'll be placed in appropriate classes to meet our needs

However the bad part is my math teacher from the last two semesters is now teaching low(er) level math subjects so there's no way I can get re-staffed with her FML!

when I do go to take my official test I'm going to be looking for a scribe so when I'm working on extended response questions I can have somebody write down what I am saying instead of me having to draft up something while typing something out....and of course more time for the tests in general and the use of a calculator (non of which will appear on my diploma)
