Lately, I haven't been chosen in for group projects. I am a very silent person with a leading and good attitude, but no one chooses me. Once in a class, I came back from testing, and my teacher asked the class who wants me in their group, and almost nobody raised their hand, except one group. I think there are a couple of reasons, but some of them might not sound right or sane.

1. Racism? I am usually the only African-American boy in my class, and the rest is largely white. Perhaps this could be racism?

2. People Think I'm insane? Sometimes I talk to myself or hum, and people might think I'm insane or a psychopath.

3. Weird In General?

Whatever you think it is, please tell me,
because this situation makes me kind of sad.

It's probably because you're a "very silent person". They don't know you and thus don't know what kind of person you really are. Another reason could be - as you already said - that they could consider you as weird. It really depends on your classmates but especially teenagers avoid people who aren't "normal" in their opinion because those people are not "cool" in their eyes. What did the members of the group you ended up in acted like towards you?

That is the reason why, in most cases, I like random group partners better.

People are more prejudiced than ever, but they hide it in their heads.
