Because of AS, I have authority problems. Big ones. I don't let teachers pull the "I am older therefore I am right" card whenever they screw up. My behavior is very impulsive - I'll do something before really realizing what I'm doing, and then I have the huge social gap to boot. Moreover, I've had a chronic never ending headache from age ten, and above that, migraines. As such, I was given all sorts of stupid medication at a very young age. My neurologist believes these have damaged my emotions even worse. At any rate, this SEVERILY effects my ability to work with other people. I'm 16 and have been kicked out of TWO (and almost three) schools for behavioral problems (mainly those attributed to aspergers). Now I'm forced to do some online course which I find extremely difficult to complete. It's like my drive tells me NOT to do it. Neither the public or private schools in my area will take me anymore and above that, my mother hates me too much to homeschool me. She's an emotional fleabag.. I can't have a regular conversation without SOMEHOW offending her over something. Anyways, have any of you had behavioral problems or been expelled from school?

I've had a lot of problems with teachers, either physical or emotional. My most recent physical one was in ninth grade a teacher (that wasn't even mine) was trying to hold me back against the wall because I wasn't in the cafeteria when I was supposed to be (I was on my way and nearly there, too). So anyway, while she was doing that, she was yelling at me right in my face. I hit her twice and ran as fast as I could to the complete other side of the building. And trust me, it was a big school of over a million square feet. I got suspended seven days for that, more than any other time. I'm typically suspended for three days for hitting another student for harrassing me or yelling at a teacher for being a jerkface.

I had a lot of problems with authority when I was in HS, I was put in, in school suspension, detention through my whole freshmen and sophomore year, then my last two yrs of HS I was put in a class called Project hope where there was bars on the windows and I wasn't allowed to leave the class to walk the school unless I had an aid with me and there was only like 7 other students and they were in that class either because it was either jail or go to school, some had house arrest and had anklets attached to them. It defintly did not help considering all we did was play mortal kombat, and occasionally goto the gym to play to find an area where there were no other students to come in contact with. Let me remind you I was only maybe 5 foot, and 80lbs at the time when I graduated HS.

I had a hard time in elementary and middle school with my anger outbursts. I even had a few of them in high school and one in college. Over the years, though, and through a lot of support, I have learned to somewhat control them. My problems were with cruel, misunderstanding peers; drastic, last-minute changes; teachers who didn't care; and other things that I can't think of right now. I'm curious to know how much support you guys get from friends, family, or counselors. Because I'll tell you one thing, if it hadn't of been for the unending support from my family and counselors, I probably wouldn't of been able to make the grade here in college.

I've also been expelled from 2 schools. I was expelled from the school I went to for 5th and part of 6th grade. Part of it was a problem with authority, part of it was because I hated the school, part of it was because my homeroom teacher hated me, ironically, I was actually fairly popular with the other students at that school. My parents then sent me to a military school after that because they thought I was suffering from a lack of discipline. I hated it and managed to get expelled within a week much to my parents' chagrin. I was not schooled at all for several years after that. My parents said they would homeschool me but I never really got any teaching and was idle and isolated for those 4 years. Then my parents sent me to a high school where I did very well academically but not so well socially. I'm in college now.

When a teacher shows they're intelligent, mature, and deserving of respect I have no problem with them. If only all teachers were like that. However, I ended up with a lot of quacks who were less intelligent than most the students. I had an especially big moron who believed that anyone with Tourette syndrome, Autism, or Aspergers was really just demon posessed.
