After months of deciding, I have finally chosen a college!! !! !

Beginning in August, I will be attending Midwestern State University, in Wichita Falls, Texas

Wichita Falls is 110 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and 150 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.

I will be majoring in geology and minoring in computer science.

Tim

From a fellow student seeking a degree in college, good luck, and congrats. My only suggestion is try to get a private room if you're going to be living on campus. I have not have good roommate experiences so far (i'm in my second year), and I've convinced the disabilities office here at school to give me a private room, all to myself :) I'm kinda lookin forward to next year, it should be less stressful without having to deal with roomates. It's just too hard to do school and be semi social at the same time. I just need a place I can come back to that is mine to get away from it all sometimes.

I've chosen a private room as a preference, but I don't mind having a roommate.

Stay away from SMSU. The professors discriminate against people with learning disabilities, neurological atypicalities, and what not, and you won't get recommendations from any of them. This one psychology professor tried to convince me to drop out of college completely and be a magician, and all sorts of other really nasty stuff. My disability has been exploited to everyone there, and no one treats me like a human being. I'm totally screwed and get all kinds of death and rape threats to my email and they do nothing about it. I'm scared for myself and son. I tried turning the a-holes in that I thought were responsible, and now I'm in more trouble for having brought it to the administrations' attention.

The other thing is, they totally screw with your personal life, so good luck with dating and making friends, cuz it ain't gonna happen here.

Good luck to you. My advice would also be to seek the single room. I have a roommate for this year. It's an experience that I'm glad that I've had but not one I'd particularily want to go through again.

My father is a retired geologist. He retired at 50, geology can be lucrative.

Also, my parents agreed to contribute $10,000 toward my education (I had a dispute with my parents over paying for college).
