I graduated from high school last night. Overall it went well. We had 10 valedictorians out of a class of 402 students. One of the valedictorians didn't deserve it though, she cheated her way to the top and even paid someone $40 to write her speech. A majority of the class (including me) can't stand her. There was also a problem with our class song. It's a long story. I won a stereo/CD player at the senior party which was pretty cool. I think that about sums it up.

Congrats from Scoots! Time for college now.

Education never seems to end... does it :)

My class only had one valedictorian, GPA of 4.3 as I recall. My graduation ceremony was held outdoors and the temp at the start of the cermony was in the low 90's and I was in a black and horribly uncomfortable tuxedo.

Our class song sucked. We had a choice between Garth Brooke or Styx. We ended up listening to "Come sail away" which really peeved me because I don't like styx and the sound system we had was horrible, plus I was roasting and I just wanted it all to be over.

Advanced placement classes count as one additional point, so with them you can score above 4.0.

Anyway, what's with this multiple valedictorian thing?! I've always understood that *one* person was chosen for that role. I'm reallly not surprised though.. I imagine that 20 years from now, everybody in the class will be a valedictorian, so that nobody's feelings will be hurt for not graduating at the top of their class.

LOL sad but true. I wondered the same thing myself.

My high school class had two valedictorians, but that was because they got the exact same GPA. So instead we just didn't have a salutatorian. But if 10 people all got 4.3 ... I've gotta wonder what kind of grade inflation is going on at that school.

At our school a 4.0 is the highest GPA you can get. There were obviously more people who received a 4.0 than just our 10 valedictorians. To be valedictorian at our school you have get a 4.0 and be in AP classes. There are other schools in my area that do the whole 4.3 thing, but ours doesn't. I don't think it's necessarily a grade inflation at our school. Some years there's only one and other years there are more, so it varies with the students. All of them (except for the idiot who is a cheater) are really intelligent and very hard working.

It was messy at our school. You had GPA and QPA. QPA takes into account tougher courses. The highest one could theoretcially get would be a 6 QPA, and that is if the person took NOTHING but AP courses and got all As (and since certain courses are mandatory and merely regular credit, like Gym, this is impossible). Our valedictorian had a QPA of 5.312 (I had about a 4.423).

I am going to go to the local community college. It actually has great teachers. I also don't really know what I want to do yet. As for posting pictures, I might later if I figure it out. I'll have to ask my uncle, as I'm not the most coputer savvy person in the entire world.

By the way, I am posting this from my new laptop that I just got about ten minutes ago for my birthday/graduation party! I turn 18 in nine days!
