Did people nickname you? I mean not necessarily at school.
During school I have been nicknamed 'whity' (because of my pale complexion) or 'gecko' (they thought I look like one, side-face lol) or 'geek' of course.

My parents used to call me "Jesse Bear" because that was the name of some book I liked and also my real name.

Some kid at school would call me "Messy Jesse"

i pretty much refuse to be called anything but my real name, not that anyone tried to give me a nickname before anyway. some of my friends tried once or twice, but they couldn't find anything that "fit" and nothing ever stuck. other than when my mom would call me marie elizabeth for some reason when i was in really big trouble (it's not my real name). she used to tell me that she called me that bc i was acting so bad that i couldn't possible be her child lol.

At school, my nicknames varied from year to year, but they all ranged from from annoying to downright insulting. Some examples include "stupid", "ret*d", and "nuts" (meaning crazy). The number of people using the nicknames peaked at two time periods: sixth grade and junior year of high school.

Among my friends, no particular nickname stuck, probably because efforts to "be like everyone else". A few nicknames were used briefly (none of them was a put-down), but none stuck for longer than a few weeks. A shortened version of my last name was used on an on-and-off basis for the past four years, but it not regularly enough to be considered an actual nickname.

Interesting thread. It's always interesting to analyze how one's nicknames change over time.

Besides the obvious, I have recieved the following nicknames:

9th grade: Arrow (some wordplay on my real name. Don't know when and how it started, but it was only used within band class - the memory of which makes me want to heave)

10th Grade: Various odd mispronounciations of my first name. Eh-ron, Uh-ron, and Ah-roan were common.

11th grade: One kid calls me MacCracker. This is based on the fact that I'm, uh, white, and the resemblence that it has to my last name.

How they nickname me depends on whether or not they want to live.

Mostly in regards to my name. My username comes from a Japanese nickname that someone at my school gave me when she was completely obsessed with anime and manga.

Nothing special, Johnny or called me by last name. I was jokingly called The John in sixth grade but other than that no nicknames really.

I like to call my brother Jon Jaun using Spanish pronunciation. It really pisses him off.

most of my nicknames would be plays on my name.. since my name is Mikhail (hopefully someone can pronounce that right) people would change it to like.. Mik, Mikayla, Michelle, Mika-el-la, Mickey, Mi-ka-yel, Michael... never got called Mikey/Mike though.

I've got one 'wierd' one: Smilie, from 'smiling too much'.
