I got this book last week:
(Paperback)The Ultimate Guide to Video Game Writing and Design

I'm only on "Level" 3 and found very useful advice. However, when finally flashing out ideas I find a block, otherwise known as a lack of people remotely involved in video games. Any advice on schools where I can make good connections, lessons, etc.?

I heard of this school in magazine its called Digipen its in washington the state nintendo often hires graduates or Have played portal some of the developer of that game recently graduated from digipen or so I heard.
