So, I just finished my first week. I am by far the oldest person in my class (Spanish 101). The funny thing is that I keep thinking that the work is going to be so hard and quite frankly, it isn't (I am used to law school work, i.e. 300+ pages of reading per night). It is a lot of busy work, but it keeps me on task and I have already learned a lot in just a week. My Professor is cool. She is very animated and is also funny.

I have already met a couple of young people and they are nice to me and are friendly.

The major difference I noticed, between when I graduated with my BA in '99 and now, is the prevalence of people with cell phones glued to their ears and also the larger population of minorities. The university I attend is in the middle of wheat fields and typically, kids from the surrounding farm communities are ones who attend. However, in my class alone there are many more people from the major city in my state and from other states like California, Oregon and from down south.

All in all a good week. My daughter is still adjusting to pre-school...she cries when I leave :-(, so in turn I cry on the way to class. She likes her teacher a lot though and laughs when she sees her.

I know that as I walk across campus (I forgot all the damn walking one must do) I am happy. I just love being in school and I really like the university that I am returning to. I have a certain comfort level there.

I just wish I could be in more of the grad school arena, but maybe in a couple years when I finish this BA.

I'm off to put on my eye cream to try and smooth out some of my wrinkles.
