As I mentioned in another thread, my roomate insists on the having the shades and window in our room wide open at all times.

I close them both up at night to try and get some sleep, but when he goes to bed he opens them back up.

This weekend I left to go home friday afternoon and before I left, I closed the windows becasue the weekend forcast called for heavy rain.

My room faces west and any wind will drive the rain right into the room.

My roomate was also gone most of the weekend, I tried calling several times to let him know to keep the window closed, but I got no answer.

I worry about this because I was assigned the right side of the room, the side of the room where the window opens up to. I have my computer and a power strip sitting right on the desk right below the window.

So this afternoon I tried to drive back to oshkosh in the most blinding downpour I ever saw, all the while I was praying and hoping to god he left the window closed.

I get to back to my room and as I soon as I entered, I felt like screaming at the top of my lungs.

Both the curtain and windows were thrown wide open. I ran over to my desk. There was water puddled up every where on it. My computer got drenched.

The carpet was soaking wet, so much so that when I steped on it, I could see the water pooling out from underneath my feet. The curtain was drenched and soaking water.

As for that power strip, I unpluged it and turned it upside down and watched as water poured out of that as well. I'm suprised it didn't short out.

As for my computer, the case took the brunt of the rain, A quick look inside revealed it to be bone dry, My monitor stayed dry as well, as it was shielded behind the CPU case.

I really need to have a talk with him again about the window

It sounds like a nice time to have a little chat with your roommate.
