I don't understand why I'm still so stressed out all the time, even though my course load has reduced considerably. I just have lost the ability to withstand stress, and anything wrong that happens to me sets me off into a panic. I don't know what I can do to fix this, it's both tiring for me and everybody around me. I just feel so horrible for not being able to control my emotions anymore.

I have the same problem, idk if you can get into the school or not, but i'll tell you my Sit-Rep, i have School-Phobia and to be honest i tend to feel very much like .. well i will leave that out of this .. I can't even make it to a class i will stop and start balling and as my mom whom is stressed is pulling me im pulling back and yelling at her that she needs to stop ( I'm 15, Male, and very big not fat but "very impossing" and " unconsiously i always seem to glare ( dont no why )". So yeah with that wonderous roll up, i understand very much what your feeling, i can barley manage one class, at home, online, no contact with others, so your doing a heck of alot better than i am. I'm not here to say that i have some huge problem and how bad it is, i just want you to know your not alone.

As for coping with school, i usually sit/lay down for a few mins to calm down, or listen to my favorite music, heck some times i just tell my mom to leave me alone for 10-15 mins while i just sit in my room with the lights off and i just think about anything that makes me feel calm. However thats how i cope, you may have other ways of destressing or find other ways if so use them, the best coping tool is the one you like the most :D

Good luck though 8)

I know that I do cope better then some, but compared to my old ability to cope with anything that came my way (though that might have been suppression), and now the stupidest things set me off, like a bad mark or a big change in my routine.
What you do actually sounds similar to meditating. I destress by having a time in the day that I don't do any work (unless I'm bored or really busy and need the extra time) and either vent my problems to somebody or relax and play cards. I sometimes have to play cards if I'm stressing out, because venting fuels it in I'm in the midst of a crisis. Right after it though is much better.

I used to feel like this, back when I only went bare minimum full-time, or part-time (and had no extra-curricular involvement) and worked part-time.

Strangely enough, the solution for me was to INCREASE my course load, get more involved in extra-curriculars, and ditch the part-time job.

The problem was that I felt bored at school, which led to me not taking it seriously and frequently skipping class. Then, I would just sit around all day and get really stressed when deadlines DID approach, because I had mostly forgotten about them. Now, the more I'm on campus, the more involved I am, and the better I do.

^ Never heard that problem, but then again, I've always been a perfectionist when it comes to school. The tiniest project will be medium sized when I get through with it. For some reason I've only gotten a 90% once in a course though, probably because I mess up badly on tests.

Ugh, I'm even most stressed now, I didn't know that was possible. I'm heading for a burnout very soon :(

I had a similar experience as Katie_WPG. When I do less (classes, clubs, athletics) I spend more time focused on the things that make me freak out. It's much better if I stay distracted.

Also: lists. Lists make things more manageable for me. I block out how much time I have and what I'm going to do during that time. Or you can have it more in a flow-chart style, one thing follows another. First I do this, then this, then this. It makes things seem more controlled.

^ Hm, I'll try that! Hopefully I won't lose the list though :P

School is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I worry about everything I worry that I will fail all my exams and ruin my life, I worry when ever I have said something stupid, I panic about lots of things - especially when I suddenly thing I have lost or forgotten something

And worse, I'm the only person who is stressing out. My peers seem to be happy at school :( They seem bored rather than stressed. I wish I was only bored.

I understand what you mean! I know a lot of people who are basically failing (or at least in my standards failing), and they're just like whatever about it. My friends are like me though, though only one is like the extreme that I go through, and she hides it much better then I can.
You sound like you have GAD, or at least a Anxiety NOS (Is that the term? I mean an anxiety that doesn't fit the regular kinds of diagnosis but are still definitely some sort of Anxiety disorder). I was diagnosed with a Anxiety NOS, because my anxiety extends to only everything school related and other stuff fits more with my depression.
