Just curious... Do you want to live in your college/uni's dorm?

I live in my university's dorm, and it's working out pretty well.

I live in on-campus apartments, and that's better than any dorm because you can get a one-bedroom, depending on the school.

Sure; the furniture wouldn't fit, but boy would the rent and utilities be cheaper...;)

Parties in the dorms? They usually cracked down on our behavior in the dorms and due to security concerns restricted access to residents and escorted non-residents during the evenings. The real parties were all off campus.

I want to, but it would be cheaper ($400 a month for everything, even food) if I lived at home. So I'll probably do that so I can save up for a nice apartment after University.

Absolutely would love to live on campus. Unfortunately, it costs way too much and I come from a poor family who can't help me cover it. The semester I spent on campus was the best 3.5 months of my entire life. I had so many good friends and enjoyed the s**t out of the independence.

I live on campus at Mason and my grades are very good since I have made Dean's List twice in my Junior year.

I live in the dorms and everythings fine for the most part except the dorm I had this year was annoyingly far so I was barely there, mostly studying in the library. I lived more on the 1st and 2nd floor of the library then my dorm.

I lived in the dorms for a semester, and that 4 months was the best time of my life. Then my dad got laid off and I had to switch schools to a much cheaper local university so I could live at home. Everything, socially speaking, has been downhill from there. I can't wait to move out of mom and pop's basement after graduating this summer.

Dorm life can be very liberating and very stressful. You can always give it a try.

I lived in the dorms my first year and that didn't work out too well...

Shared a room in an apartment my second year....it was better but still was not plesant

Now...have my own room in an apt and rarely bump into my apt mates and its PERFECT!

I also want this, man! No one would be able to stand my antics and rituals... I think I may give it a try if I am willing and able to afford my own dorm room. :)

I lived in the dorms my first year of college, and I will be living in the dorms next year. Then the campus stops guaranteeing on-campus housing and I have to move off-campus after 2 years.

I have had a terrible time with the dorms, because of my roommates. I was barely there, because my roommates are both VERY NT and are horrible to me. They like to look through my stuff and kick me when I'm down. So I never had a place to escape to. I made 2 friends on my floor of about 100 people. I lived in a double room that was refurbished to be a triple. Next year I am living in a single. That way I will be able to meet people and survive the dorm, but also have a space where I can shut the door and just be alone. If you can, I recommend getting a single room, because you have NO idea how important that alone time will be. I can't do any work in my dorm room, so I leave it at 7:45 am, and don't get back until 9:15 pm. I do work at a student center all day. Then I come home, and my roommates always have lots of people doing lots of loud obnoxious things. I feel like if I had a chance to have picked my roommates specifically, I would've been better off, because I could live with people who accept me and accept that I am quiet and don't talk about myself all the time, and that I don't like gossip, etc. Some of you will get lucky with roommates, but remember, that if you get woken up at 1:30 in the morning hearing voices to hear your roommates telling each other all sorts of things about yourself that you never knew, there is a problem.

Anyhow, for me, I had to live in the dorms, because I went far away for school. (New England to California). It's not a bad thing, it's great to be on campus and have that space without having to worry about transportation. Just aim to see if you can get yourself some "me-space".

wow, I wrote an essay... sorry...
