Although I haven't made a final decision on whether or not to continue and get a master's degree, I have started to narrow my choices down to a few colleges.

These are based on school size (I want a smaller school), and the availability of part-time graduate studies in urban planning.

I don't know much about the other schools in your list, but Florida State is frickin' huge.

The one in Tallahassee?

Florida Atlantic is in Fort Lauderdale.

Yeah, FSU is in Tallahassee. And it is enormous. Florida Atlantic is smaller.

I have ruled out FSU (too big) and the University of Oklahoma (required more hours than the others). And I don't think I would want to live in California.

So now, it's UT Arlington, University of New Mexico, or Florida Atlantic.

Florida Atlantic is the smallest grad school out of the three schools you listed...

I would have gone to Faber College if it weren't fictional.

Not bad --- the ultimate party school :)

By the way... Why don't you consider Indiana State? Their geography department is small and good...

Ok I looked at reviews from http://www.studentsreview.com

UT Arlington - Seems to be a lot of complaint about the students, teachers, and administration.

University of New Mexico - Horrible administration/advising, some unhelpful professors, but apparently good science and engineering departments.

Florida Atlantic - Various complaints here. The main recurring themes seemed to be bad advising/financial aid departments, and extremely boring campus life. One person mentioned the town being extremely dangerous because of illegal immigrant gangs. Some people mentioned bad teachers as well.

So, from what I've read... I would pick the University of New Mexico. But keep in mind that I only read the negative reviews on this site... You may want to read more in depth (especially from people in your major) just to be certain.

But again, you'd need to visit personally the schools you want to go to get the 'atmosphere' of the place will be at the next two years or so.

UT Austin has a good program, but with well over 50,000 students, it's out of the question.

Don't go to Florida State, it's a crappy school and it's a dump. Only go if you can't get into any other school. It's on the panhandle of Florida. You know what that means? White trailer trash. Here's an idea, how about you just stay away from the schools in Florida, none of them are any good.

The University of Miami and University of Florida are both excellent schools, top-50 in the country.

Is University of Miami public or private?

Private, and way too expensive to be worth it if you don't get mass scholarships. I've heard decent things about Florida Atlantic as well, but I haven't heard much since it's a smaller school.

That's probably just undergrad students. I doubt any school would have 50,000 grad students in it. Graduate programs tend to be a lot smaller.
