Yes I like making new friends but I am quite selective. Most of my friends are older than me as I find the other kids my age too immature and a lot of the local kids who are my age are as*holes.
I'm thirteen and I feel the same way. Most of my good friends are 1-5 years older than me. In summer, I'm with my grandmother, in a scientific research community. If you think scientists are interesting people, then try hanging out with their teenage children sometime. I made more friends in my first summer attempting to socialize there than in the rest of my life combined. It is really cool to find a place where nerds are normal. In the winter, all the people are boring and normal, or total jerks. I don't have very many friends in my town. It ceased to be important to me a while back.
