are you also a nerd?

A bit, but probably more of a geek. (Are there even differences?)

I wasnt exactly a nerd. I had some characteristics BUT I also shared alot with the mysterious loner, goth, and metalhead archetypes.

I'm not bothered.
I was the archetypal little professor. My primary school teachers used to ask me to rephrase my words. When I was disruptive in class (that wasn't so nerdy), instead of sending me to the headmistress's office like the other kids, they'd give me essays to write because they knew I liked doing them. I used to try and go over the limit on my library card all the time. I spent all my time in the garden, either in the shed reading on a damp mattress or making bonfires and digging around in the earth. When I was 6 I sat in my room and listened to Tchaikovsky for hours. Weird kid. Aspie kid

Hahaha, yes. Geek, that's me.

Spending hours gaming, on computers, watching sci-fi... the list is endless.

nerd ???

I think my username gives me away. I am most definetly a geek. I play World of Warcraft, I'm obbessed with Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, I still play Pokemon Gold on my GBA, I've got at least 5 superhero posters hung up in my room, my background is a picture of Samurai Jack fighting Aku, and I do other geeky things. The fact that I own two 20 sided dice and have played D&D at least once doesn't make me any cooler either . And I watched 2 days of BlizzCon in one with my geeky friends and family. I also went to ComicCon and bought action figures. I got to meet the guy who draws Spongebob and another guy who makes the Simpsons comics. It was AWESOME.

Has cracked at least one system: check!
codes programs on my own: check!
is a star trek fan: check!
is a doctor who fan: check!
likes Firefly: check!
likes all kinds of sci-fi: check!
watches more anime than is considered normal: check!
uses an old 80's computer at least once a week: check! (my C64)
has and uses at least one retro console: check! (a sega master system)
owns at least three gaming consoles: check! (PS3, xbox 360, PS2, sega master system.... and the c64 could be considered one ap least partially)
owns at least four computers of any kind: check! (4 stationary PCs, three laptops and a server, not counting the C64)
has intricate knowledge on how computer hardware works: check!
thinks that commercial operating systems are the work of Satan himself: check!
has had numerous keyboards where the WSAD keys have been worn clean: check!
has played D&D at least once and enjoyed it: check!
hates any kind of physical exercise: check!
gurgles large amounts of Coca Cola and various energy drinks: semi-check! (I cut down after I moved out from my parents... stuff's too expensive nd has more or less changed to coffee)

I play the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. Dr. Seuss invented the term Nerd as one of his creatures in one of his books.

It's nice to see so many fellow nerds! I liked the venn diagram a lot. I'm a nerd because I enjoy math, I have pimples, and not to brag but I honestly think I'm the smartest kid in my school, or at least my class. And I think everyone else agrees.
