Did it ever happen that people actually liked your 'weird' side as a kid? After reading a couple of things on this site I was thinking of situations like:

-Classmates being (a little) curious about the interest, like someone who knows everything/a lot about dinosaurs and they like to hear about it
-Kid being all over an instrument that other kids like, like a piano
-Having 2 kids who actually have the same interest (wether they both are as or not)
-Just a good elementary school with a good anti-bullying plan
-Teachers who think your social skills/talking lack due to one or both parents coming from another country; so they pay extra attention to teach you the language and help you in conversation

My friends and classmates like my weird side, and I love it too. It is really really great to be different, people obsess about wanting to be normal but I would never want to be that, I do not want to just blend into the background.
