Posting for my kid, LEGO
I am thinking about getting my son on with his own screen name and all. Wondering if there are any other "Brickmasters" out there who have a special inerest in LEGO? Just curious before I go through signing him up if he would have any company in loving all things LEGO and if he would connect on that point. He is a very smart, funny kid who doesn't know any other AS kids except his little sister. He has dubbed her "Brickmaster Jr" He is anxious to "meet" other AS kids and wonder what kinds of things he might connect on.
thanks!

I'm not a kid. I'm sure there must be some on the spectrum who enjoy Lego. It is one of the world's most popular toys. Just recently I discovered this place called Bricklink on the internet that is like eBay but only for Lego. You can easily search for and buy specific parts and kits from all of Lego history, and I have found the prices to be much, much cheaper than buying them on eBay.
A few months ago I was browsing eBay and saw a red Lego bicycle. That got me thinking I could make models of myself to sell to fans and give away as promotional pieces. I bought the bicycle, but then nothing happened for a few weeks until I saw a Lego-compatible guitar on eBay that resembles the one I play when I ride my Schwinn ten-speed in real life. Then I found a Lego head that resembles me with a beard and glasses, then some brown hair that looks like my hair color and style.
I've built seven of these models. So far I've only given one away, but it was a big hit. The first model cost me about seventeen bucks for the pieces buying them in small lots from eBay. I have since found that by using Bricklink and shopping carefully, I can get the price down to about eight bucks per model. The guitar is the only part that isn't genuine Lego (it's made by a company called Brickforge). Lego has just come out with a "punk rocker" minifig (part of their Series 4 minifigs), but he has a Flying V shaped guitar, and I have always played a double-cutaway shaped Stratocaster similar to the one shown in this model.
Besides guitars, that third-party company Brickforge also makes things like Lego-compatible Centaurs, and my daughter wants some of those next! There is also a company called Brickarms that makes replicas of modern and vintage firearms and military accessories for Lego minifigs. I'm not into that though.
