How many of you like Monty Python and the Holy Grail? I've rented it several times, and last night, I finally got to buy it. It's one of my favourite movies. :D

Definitely one of the classic off-beat films, whether for witch hunting or discussing forms of government.

Or the Black knight... or Swallows...

But then I like Time Bandits
And Water.

That is one of my favorite movies, so much so that I have watched it 57 times in past few years, the last time being yesterday. It is defintely a good addition to anyone's movie library. Every once in a while,oOne just needs to have a discussion on the air velocity of a laden swallow....

My favorite part was the killer rabbit...

and also the black night:

But you have no legs or arms! Ahh, it's only a flesh wound!

A reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

"Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand in the direction of thine foe, who, being in my sight, shall it."

Hehe, the killer bunny is the best. :D

Also funny is the part where they use the coconuts to pretend they're riding a horse.

It's only the undisputably most awesome movie in existence. The bonus DVD that comes with some versions has a hilarious Japanese overdub of a few scenes back-translated with English subtitles that can't be missed.

Ww were talking about the Spanish Inquisition in English class today(don't ask) and my teacher asked, "What did they use to torture people during the Spanish Inquisition?" and I answered, "Comfy chairs?"

The teacher ignored me, and no one laughed, so I suppose that they didn't get the joke.

It's becoming an age thing... and possibly a cultural one.

Python and Hitchhikers are a generation ago, despite some references that seem immortal.

"When I was a lad..." (You were lucky!)

Yes but when I was a lad...
"He's fallen in the water!"

or even "left hand down a bit!"

I refuse to go back and quote lines from ITMA

There's always "Very Interesting... "
