When traveling (and not driving), I used a hand-held computer - an iPad.

My cars are equipped with dedicated on-board computers.

My home security system is computer-based, and it can be accessed from other computers.

i am also migrating my audio restoration work [perhaps unwisely?] from my big box puter [not a desktop but a "floor" or "tower" model with an ancient pentium and windows 98se] to my laptop. i hope it lasts, as i absolutely detest the migration process, it is almost as bad as packing up a household's worth of stuff and moving to another house. :hmph:

A desktop computer. Laptops are expensive, difficult to repair, virtually impossible to upgrade and less reliable than desktops. Not that I have strong opinions on the subject or anything...
