I don't drive, so am always the passenger.
Can't go on amusement park rides, am afraid of heights & being flung about, spun around.

I feel nauseated in a car, but I don't vomit, I just feel stomach lurching queasiness.
Listening to music I like or having good conversation helps significantly with distracting me from it, though.

I did as a kid but I kine of outgrew it as a teen but I occasionally feel kind of queasy if I'm ridding on a really bumpy road for abit or it's fast driving with lots of sudden hard stops & fast acceleration. I got my doc to prescribe a motion-sickness med a year ago for traveling & I only took it a couple times.

No, I sure don't. My sister does, however.

I've had it since I was a child and it's gotten worse as an adult. I can't even swing on a swingset anymore because it will make me feel sick!

I even get it when Iam not moving.
At Thorpe Park around 1990, you sat in this big dome where they projected film on the wall that looked 3D, the film way of things like roller coaster rides or being a passenger in a sidecar, I had to spend most of the experience sitting with my eyes shut.

Usually motion sickness tends to get better after becoming a teen or adult instead of worse. Have you talked to a doc about it? It might be caused or made worse by medications or related to a medical cause. You may be able to add or change a med to something that would help; some meds are sometimes used for motion sickness & anxiety.

Yes, but not all the time... The last time it happened was when I was on my way home from Dallas.

Really bad. I have to sit in the front of my car if it is moving. I can drive fine. I also get motion sickness in air planes as well...or maybe that is just altitude sickness?

I voted "yes, but only a little" in the poll-because I can tolerate a little bit of travel, and I haven't thrown up for that reason since childhood.

Motion sickness is a contributor to my inability/unwillingness to travel (at least beyond a small radius around where I live).
However, agoraphobia, social phobias/anxiety, and probably some other factors have a hand in it, too.

Car ride-it depends on the terrain and road condition-smooth interstate highways are usually the least sickening, on a vestibular/visceral level.
Twisty windy up & down and side-to-side roads-esp. with rough surface (dirt roads, many potholes & ragged pavement) are so much worse to feel, physically.

Trains sway, rattle (sounds that startle & unnerve me), rumble.

Planes-well, you know what they're like, not to mention the claustrophobia that can induce.

A bus (depending on whether it's a glorified/souped-up van or a ginormous coach) is loud-I prefer the larger buses bc. they are more likely to provide a smooth ride.
Unfortunately, in my small town, what bus service there is has small, ramshackle, creaky, clunky buses and one feels quite tossed about, jostled like cargo.

All I can say, is thank goodness I don't get motion sick when I walk ! ;) That's my one reliable method of getting about.

I get pretty bad motion sickness. Fortunately I haven't thrown up since my teenage years but every time it is close. No longer than two days ago I could barely stand a 15 mins long ride and I was feeling sick for next half of hour after leaving the car.

I always get the car sickness when my dad is driving, my mom controls the radio (damn loud music!) and I am forced to sit in the back. Just 2 minutes in this environment makes me sick, especially if I have to look down even for a few seconds (sometimes even connecting the belts is enough).

Things that help me to control it:
- Sitting in the front.
- Staring through the window
- Eating. I must have some candies in the car, sour ones are especially effective for keeping my stomach on leash. (People tend to be surprised by this strategy - but it works for me)
- Having a bandaid on my belly button (I also was surprised by the idea - but it seem to work well)
- Taking a "Lokomotiv" or a similar medicine

I did get motion sickness in my childhood, but rarely experience it now thankfully.

very rarely. i have never gotten motion sickness on a car plane or train, only on boats.
the last time i got motion sick was on a fishing boat several years ago.
i have only recently started going on planes again but i don't recall any bad experiences on them. only being annoyed by babies crying and kids screaming.

Actually not at all, probably because of my wobbly eyes, I am the only one in my family who can read a book in the car

I have never suffered from motion sickness or sea sickness.
