Just in time to see Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Mozart and the Whale, or approximately they both come out that month I think.

Oh, really? You're referring to the 3rd Star Wars movie, right? Perfect. Just perfect.

I see from this forum that most members prefer not to give their age. This is fine, of course .... I am rather shy about giving my age because I guess I am one of the oldest members here! (although I have seen at least one older)
I would be interested to know however, are there any stats that show ages correlated with diagnostic status? That is,the ages of people actually diagnosed with AS, not diagnosed, not sure, with family member, or NT?
Despite my age (I am actually in my fifties) I was diagnosed with AS only about two years ago, although I suspected I had it for longer than that. It certainly has caused quite a lot of problems in my life ! Where I live (the UK)there seems very little awareness about , or help for, adult Aspies although there is beginning to be more awareness that it can affect youngsters. Am I a maybe a bit freaky, getting a diagnosis so late?

Of course not. It isn't that it's taken all this time for you to get diagnosed, it's that you're in this place and time where people are beginning to be aware of a thing called Asperger's. There's no way you could have been diagnosed much earlier, because people simply didn't know about it. Edgar Scheider was born in 1932 and wasn't diagnosed until 1995 (and that was in the US); does that make him more freaky than you?

I do sometimes look a bit jealously at kids who get a diagnosis at six years old; there's so much that can be done for them that wasn't done for me. But they're just lucky for being six now.

I was diagnosed very early, just a week after I had turned 4.

I'm 60, and was diagnosed less than 2 years ago by the Veterans Administration (after I suggested the diagnosis! :D )
Sorta proud of my age - made it all this way, even though I was delivered to the wrong planet! :D
An early diagnosis would have been great. I was born in 1944, the same year Asperger created his syndrome. :)
But even more, I wish my parents were still alive, just to find out what made me such a weird person. They were so frustrated!

How did you make it? Did you ever find a useful purpose or career or at least a mildly satisfying job?

Isn't that like 8 days before the Ides of March?
