I need an option for "Should wear glasses (for TV, reading, computer, etc)...but don't because I look f*cking ridiculous in them!"

Yes, I reckon I reached teens before wearing glasses.

Yeah, I know a lot of NT people who wear glasses but it seems that literally every Autistic person I have ever seen/spoken to (friends, on Autism documentaries, on Autism internet sites, et cetera), all of them wear glasses. Am I the only person on the spectrum who doesn't wear glasses?

This is why now people (young people, not so much older people because glasses are more common in older people) who wear glasses always remind me of weak people (not in a nasty way, just people that are ''too nice'') because if a lot of Autistics wear glasses and most Autistics are intelligent and also would not intend to hurt anyone, I always get the impression that young NTs in glasses are the same; passive, loyal and sweet.

Obviously I do know a woman in her late 20s who wears glasses all the time and she is so bitchy and rude, so I suppose glasses doesn't always mean you're ''clever'' and ''too nice''.

I needed them at 9, but didn't get them until aged 11.

I started wearing glasses in the 5th grade at about twelve, wore them til 8th grade then got contacts, got fed up trying to get the contacts in every morning and gave up, went without for the next three years and got my second pair of glasses in 11th grade (my eyes aren't terrible, I technically only need them for reading as my left eye is pretty much fine, but my right has an astigmatism in it which means when I close my left eye and take my glasses off, I find it hard to read printed text this size from about a foot and a half away). Everyone in my family is supposed to wear glasses, but I'm the only one who does. My mom wears them every once in a while for reading, but that's it. My sister's eyes are about as bad as mine (though she doesn't have the astigmatism) but she hates her glasses. My dad is just a stubborn old man with progressively worsening farsightedness, which he insists he can correct by exercising his eyes, and who claims that wearing glasses when he "doesn't really need them" is just going to make his eyes worse.

I wear them to drive. My right eye is perfect but my left is pretty bad for anything more than about 2 feet away. It messes with my depth perception sometimes (hence the need to wear glasses while driving).

My whole family wears glasses! I wear them too and have gone through many, many pairs as I lose or break them very often.

Yes, I've been wearing glasses since I was about 13 or so. Went to get eye tests and it turned out that I am nearsighted so I wear glasses pretty much all of the time now. My left eye is worse than my right.
