I've always loved dogs with all my heart. However, I don't appreciate the destructive and boisterous behaviour that often comes with dogs whose owners haven't trained them properly.

I would love to own a cat too because they seem like wonderful companions and I think I'd relate well to one. Too bad I'm allergic. :(

I love cats more, since I don't really like dogs mainly because of sensory issues, but cats are awesome anyways!

I prefer cats. I like dogs too, but they sometimes scare me.

I forgot to mention that I don't like the way cats rub against my leg.

Definitely cats, particularly Siamese, tabbies and calicos, because those are the breeds I have had.

Hello,

I think a lot of anti-cat people dislike cats not for what they are but for what they are not. What they are not is dogs, and although quite a few people think cats should act like dogs, it is rare to find someone who thinks dogs should act like cats.

I like them both but honestly I prefer cats more. They don't make me feel like I'm sweating to death when they snuggle next to me in bed. Also I feel like it's easier to take care of a cat than it is a dog

I like both, but a dog would get me outside more.

Unfortunately, where I live I have none.

Prefer dogs, though I like both. My favourite dogs are working cocker spaniels, particularly black ones (see display picture).

Cats. I'm scared of dogs too. We have a book called 'All Cats have Asperger's Syndrome'. I think that's true. I also think it's true that all dogs are NT.
Nasty dogs are aggressive big creatures who could seriously injure humans. Nice dogs are either annoying shouty things like mine or run up to you and expect to be overly familiar. Give me an aloof cat who seems to be over thinking something any day.
Of course they're all NT in a way because they're neurotypical for their own species. Except our NT (human style) cat who's adorable but a right bully.
If I was a bird or a mouse or a rabbit I'd hate our cats. But even though they've scratched and bitten me, I don't fear them because it's just a little nip. And I'm way better at their body language than human body language which means I never get scratched or bitten by cats anymore.
They're also aspie that they hate eye contact. To use eye contact on a cat: blink slowly. I had a boss who I was convinced was on the spectrum who never used to use good eye contact and the same thing worked on her (of course I never told her this was a cat technique).

I'd love to get an Airedale Terrier!

In cats, a Maine Coon cat.

Would love to get puppy & kitten together so they'd love each other from the get-go!
