How comfortable are you with touching people?

I wish you could tic a couple of options but that doesn't seem to be possible :?

I find I'm reasonably comfortable but I would like to be a lot more comfortable.

I'm very comfortable with family members (but it depends on how comfortable they are with me).

I'm not homosexual but I am generally quite comfortable with touching men.

I'm not very comfortable with touching women who are not family members (but it's easier with some than others)
and I would really like to be more comfortable with touching women.

I think this may be because I am more comfortable with pressure touch than light touch.

I feel comfortable only when touching my parents; I never touch other people that aren't my parents.

Not comfortable at all, and probably never will be.

I got desensitized to touching people when I joined rugby. It's kind of required to play the game. :lol:

haha! Very true. :lol:

Though I can't help thinking there must be better ways to desensitize then having someone knock you down and then step on your chest as they run you over. IDK... maybe full contact Badmitten ?

I'm not too comfortable with touching. I don't like getting too long of hugs from family even, that turns into a bit of an annoyance. More a problem with the physical pressure involved than anything else.

And don't tickle me, I am incredibly ticklish and it ends up hurting for me.

I do all the knocking down. I'm not exactly small. ;)

Brushing against people disturbs me greatly and I only let about 3 specific people touch me as anyone elses touch would cause an unpleasant sensation. Except when dancing ballet when I am greatly mellowed and not much bothers me except failing.

It depends on the context.

Handshakes - tolerable necessary evil.
Arm wrestling / fighting / sexual intimacy - Fun between friends.
Everything else - somewhere from "eek" to "Argh!".

Touching by my husband - will tolerate unless stressed, even mildly. Usually touching & talking at the same time will not be tolerated;
Touching family members - would generally avoid but will tolerate the absolute minimum, may sometimes initiate contact (when I know I really must);
Touching people I know - would generally strictly avoid but will tolerate an occasional handshake or a brief hug, will not initiate;
Touching people I don't know - would avoid at almost all cost, even this may offend people.

I am generally more comfortable with touching men than with touching women unless it involves yucks like hand kissing and dancing which I will avoid at all costs.

It is very rare for me to touch someone. About the only exceptions are

1) A quick tap on the shoulder to get their attention. I think that I've only done this once in the last ten years.

2) Safety issues. For example, I stood on a ladder and held someone's feet while they were on a slippery roof to keep them from sliding off.

3) Inadvertent. For example, working on a piece of equipment next to someone else and just happening to touch.
