Exactly the point.

Come to think of it, the majority of Support voters are probably the more humorous members.

this is just plain Stupid for 2 reasons 1 it would reject the FCC trying to make the web more open and would leave open for ISPs to charge for anything they want like they would people able to charge you extra to gain access to sites like Youtube and hulu. The Second thing is that every site is at risk also even wrongplanet because if some punk comes and post links to illegal content this site would be block on the DNS Level. Every Network Admin that has to deal with the Web says it will actually break the Internet as we know it.

Just incase I have some Censorship free and overseas DNS IPs stored on my Palm Pilot. Also the DNS Company I use called OpenDNS is outright opposed to this and they say if it ever passes they will go over seas to another country. My ISP is Also against this also.

It seems that the main supporters are in the entertainment industry, and I definitely don't want them controlling the internet.

absolutely not...

and google is doing some shouting about it by putting a black-bar over their logo that links to a petition.

If anyone is interested (just in case the black bar disappears)

https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/

don't break my interwebs :( without it, I cannot research every scientific topic that interests me or talk with people in my own rhythm or be on WP which I just found a couple of weeks ago...

I concur, especially because it is the entertainment industry.

I'd like to sign the petition, but I'm not a citizen of the USA.

Maybe, if the USA goes ahead with these measures, it with drift into the backwaters of information technology. Without free and active access to the internet (warts and all), it will cease to exist as a significant player in the technological world.

(P.S. I felt really peculiar, when Wikipedia said they would go quiet for 24 hours. I have come to rely on them for my extelligence.)

I don't agree with SOPA and PIPA. If just seems like a government way to over-censor the internet.

The poll is henceforth revised to include ACTA.
