About me, I put "depends" in the pool because it depends on my mood. There are days in which I feel very optimistic, and others in which I feel very pessimistic.

Most of the time I am pessimistic about everything. The only time I am optimistic is when I guy that I fancy flirts with me.

Thank you for introducing me to these terms...much more succinct, nuanced and accurate.
As for myself - I tend toward the melioristic, when I'm not suffering a bout of cynicism :)

Pessimistic.

It's very hard for me to have a positive outlook sometimes...

Pessimist. Not by inclination or birth, but rather through decades of experience dealing with human beings.

I believe it was Mark Twain who said "A pessimist is never disappointed."

An optimist and a pessimist are arguing over a glass of water. Meanwhile an opportunist steals the glass of water.

a realist notices what's going on & walks off because he doesn't want to get caught up in the middle of all that.
