I can see many reasons why an employer should be happy with me, but the fact is that those reasons are never appreciated and I'm always fired because someone doesn't like me there.

I surprised my superiors on how well I cleaned off a machine, and I was only a temp worker, and it was only a side job! Got officially recognized for it! Had only worked there about 4 months time :)

My bosses like me because I get the work done they ask of me by the time they set. I can even do it faster sometimes, but you have to take into account I work for the government so you can't appear to be too eager. Besides, if I showed I had the work done a lot sooner, they might even give me more work.
The colleague right across me likes me because I don't engage in chit-chat unless she starts it. She also knows I have Asperger syndrome, or autism in general. She's my 'buddy', she makes sure my wishes are known by the bosses if I have another emotional breakdown. The bosses don't know I have autism or Asperger syndrome and I don't want them too either. Sure, they're allowed to know I have psychological issues, but no further. People of their generation don't know anything about Asperger syndrome, so they might be led to the wrong conclusion.
I was in very bad health a few weeks ago, but did I stay home sick? Hell no! I've been working there for more than 10 years now and I think I've only been home sick for two days.
My memory is completely unreliable though. I have to have written down copies of everything, or I forget.
I'm a great problem solver though. I'm in accounting/finance so if there's a financial problem I can come up with a solution fairly quickly. Having this kind of attitude has backfired on me once though, but my job was not in danger.
I'm also very proficient in computer-related things, and especially querying databases. Whenever someone needs some information from our accounting program, I start thinking of a new to get it. I can safely say if I weren't there, the invoices we get for consultancy from the supplier of our accounting program would be much higher.
Since I have no social life, I can stay at work a lot longer than others if needed.
Apart from my buddy, only a few people at work know I have autism/Asperger syndrome. My aunt, who's a nurse and is a neighbour, b*****s at my mom because she keeps supporting me. That means she has no clue about what having Asperger syndrome really means, and that's why I limit the people that know. The colleagues that know are those people I consider good friends.

Ah, so I'm not the only Aspie in rail... I'm working for CityRail in Sydney.

The main things noted by my station manager/the duty managers has been my attention to detail, and the fact I've got a bit of initiative. I butchered the DVA a bit yesterday, I've had work done on our manual indicator boards, I'm fixing up the local SWTT because some of the information is wrong - and I've still got time to casually do my basic job on top of that.

My customers are happy too - I know a lot, I make clear and concise announcements, and I'm always extremely polite.

I love my job :-)

I find solutions where others see problems and am a v successful knowledge worker. I just know where to find nuggets of knowledge online and can see in Cyberspace in my head like the city in Bladerunner.

I work as an analytical chemist in the quality control laboratory at a chemical plant.
I am very good at my job because

1.) I have never called in sick and have filled in on several occasions at short notice.

2.) I am a very rote person, I follow the methods and procedures prescisly.

3.) I don't make idle chit chat with anyone, unless we are very slow and I have the time.

4.) Although I may be slow at analyzing a new problem, because of AS, I break it apart into several pieces and look at each piece and then come up with a solution that NO ONE would have throught of.

I'm one of those that can spot patterns, constants and 'linked' information from multiple sources (in fact, a significant amount of sources) that are unrelated to each other. This along with what is my only 'OCD' : solving problems , allows me to not only solve the problem at hand but also trace and track down where the problem originated and why no matter how far down the 'chain' or how many diverse places the source of the problem comes from.

-My accuracy is very high not only in my work but in my wording on reports.

-Ironically, my lack of empathy makes me ideal for dealing high pressure situations that require on the spot decisions.

-I learn extremely fast and retain what I learn forever. A coworker of mine once asked me about it.. I told him that even today I knew step by step how to make a bonsai tree from an hour long class my mother had taken (and I was dragged along to watch) ... when I was in the 2nd grade (elementary).

And I can explain very complex things in simple terms most of the time. Helped me lots when a tutor in college and a whole lot when I had to remotely train a bunch of agents in overseas offices that barely knew what a computer was.

I work production for a drug company. My bosses like me because i'm very focused on my job and I don't get distracted easily. My shift is the most productive and efficient shift for the product I work on also. :D 40-50hrs a week with pretty good pay, so I must be doing something right.
