I am working on getting my Comptia A+ certification. Does anyone here have an entry level field technician job? Have you had any difficulties with customer service, interviews, and things like that?

Good for you. Yes I do phone tech support. I've had challenges with what you described but eventually you get better and feel more confident.

If you go to Best Buy, expect to find a bunch of jerks that expect you to do the bare minimum possible to fix a computer and sell a bunch of add on services until the bill reaches a target of at least $120 (maybe more now). If you need a job bad enough then do it, but I wouldn't recommend making it your first choice.

I currently have a full time job, just not in the IT field.

I went with my grandma to help her buy a computer from Bestbuy, they had a service for $100 that would have the computer set up out of the box (not a home service). All this means is the OS is already installed from the system builder, but Best Buy does the first time use set up wizard, fills in the date, location, etc, then removes bloatware like Ebay! shortcuts for example and then adds their own. They make it sound as if the computer is not already set up out of the box.

I like to be honest with people.

I am A+ certified and did work in a computer shop. Anxiety and stuttering made things difficult to say the least. Having AS at work is difficult enough without speech problems :/
