What are the things you do, or don't do, that seem to cause all of these people to dislike you?

It's important to identify that common factor. I used to be a person of few words on the job, however I came to realize that those around me either perceived this as arrogant, or felt a lack of feedback in work interactions on my part.

In other words, I was operating like a machine which had been given commands, but had no status indicators, and NTs need some type of confirmation that you have an internal thought process going on, and are on the same page as they are.

When they were not getting indicators from me, they were left to speculate, and that's never a good thing.

HOLY WOW, this.

I worked for a tiny, local internet service provider in my town for just over a year. I failed to make any friends while I was there, despite being interested in socializing, close in age and interests, etc. I had decided that I was leaving, and so I dropped any reservations I had and asked a less intimidating co-worker why I was avoided and un-liked. This co-worker went on to tell me that I was "scary as hell" because I worked "so damn hard," and everyone thought I wasn't speaking to them because I was arrogant. Because I came in and did my work and didn't spend my hours getting paid to talk about dubstep (sounds of the apocalypse), I must be a "real witch, with a capital B". This co-worker said that he was surprised to hear me laugh and joke and express interests in music and movies. He said everyone thought I was angry all the time.

Hi, all. It's been awhile since I checked in, so here is an update.

I ended up finding work as a cake decorator, which is kind of perfect, because it allows me to hone my artistic skills, while keeping interactions with others to a minimum. I can just put my head down and work, just like I wanted. The pay is not great, but it is a wonderful fit for me. Not to mention the fact that my cakes are quite beautiful, so word is spreading, and people are requesting me to do their cakes. This has earned me the respect of my bosses and coworkers as well. So you could say I have recovered nicely from all the abuse. :)

In other news, I also had a baby girl in January, so I am now decorating cakes on my husband's days off, and spending the other five days a week with my daughter. It seems I have finally achieved inner peace and balance, and I couldn't be happier. :)
