Waiting until the last minute to hire people is just not right. My boss should have had all the hiring done over the summer. She knew last May that my department is short staffed. She didn't start looking until after school started last month. Other people from other parts of the school have been filling in, but the students need consistency rather than different people all the time.

I hate when she rushes through the hiring process because she will hire the first person that applies and often times the person isn't suited for the job or they don't plan on sticking around for long. Sometimes a person will accept the job offer and then they flake out and ignore all attempts to reach them.

She doesn't advertise positions too well. She only puts it in the church bulletin and announcements. She prefers to hire former students if she can.

What do you all think? Have you had any bosses like this?
