So i'm 35 with no real work history just some work experience about 20 years ago and a 6 month admin job. Done some general IT and tech support courses at tafe like 15 years ago and still fairly good with PC's. Also done some 3D Modelling and Animation and some programming in C# and C++ over the last few years at a private college.

Sadly when I got out of tafe all the jobs demanded 3 to 5 years experience for entry level jobs and disability employment agencies don't get IT jobs lol.

I was one of the first people in Australia diagnosed with a "rare" disability called Asperger Syndrome in 1994 just after it was added to DSM 4 that came out that year.

I was told not to learn to drive until about 30 because I likely wouldn't have the attention span to do it though I think it's kinda wrong but whatever. Now my vision is too bad to legally drive though I get by without glasses haha.

I have a friend who knew less about computers when he started a successful PC repair business as a sole trader but he had previous knowledge about how to run a business from owning a newsagents in he past and he has a car.

I could do the work like he does at thier houses but I can't see it being very successful paying for an uber to and from repair jobs plus if I need to take the PC away that likely wouldn't be possible.

Thing is I can't find any jobs good for people with Aspergers that are 8 hours a week or even any job for that matter over 20 year period. So I kinda think my only option is starting my own sole trader business but can't think of any business type other than PC repair that are options. So should I go with PC repair with them bringing it to me and repair them at my home?

Idk frankly, about all I do know is disability pension on it's own isn't enough but I don't see myself ever finding an employer that will hire someone with no experience.

I don't know how your country works with benefits and pensions etc. But if you can try it without anything else being effected then one may as well give it a go... But it is probably a good idea to spen time in planning towards doing that for a short while, and then make a start as a hobby repairing friends computers, and see how things go. Word does travel fast once you get a reputation for kmowing what you are doing.
Drumming up business can be slow at first. May take a couple of years so be aware of this, so you don't assume you have failed before you begin (If that makes sense?)
But anyway. The best idea is to start planning and finding out what legal aspects there are and how the tax system and other systems work etc. This is the research stageof your idea, and while researching, enjoy it! And the great thing about doing this research from all angles is that if you feel that it may not work, you don't have to go for it. There is no pressure. The oressures come when you are in business... So the research now is more like a holiday. :)
I know you only want to do a few hours a week... But you will still need the knowledge of how things are done as the same knowledge is needed if you work an hour as if you work 100 hours. (If that were possible!)
Anyway. Enjoy looking into it. Try to do it as an adventure... And even if it does not work, or if you don't go for it, you can advize someone else about the ins and outs of running a business with your new found info. So it is a useful exercise to do even if you dont end up doing it... And if you do who knows... You could be the next Bill Gates! :D

Have you tried approaching PC repair shops to see if they'd take you on? Like The PC Doctors or Re-boot, there are quite a few around.
Sometimes people just take their laptops in to the shop so you don't have to travel.
Maybe even offer to work for free for a week or two to see if they like you?
Once you're settled into a job (and got yourself some specs), you could probably learn to drive too.

I have been fixing my few friends PC's over the years and sometimes spend a couple of days helping for free at a time. I have no understanding of tax or keeping a business legal or even how to learn that sadly :( been trying to find out info for a few years now on how to do this lol and am no closer than when I started sadly.

I'm behind on some bills and $3000 in debt i'm struggling to not go over the limit on each pay. That doesn't count the $80000 in student loans I don't have to pay off until I get a job that pays over $55k a year xD I was doing expensive courses because I have no job and was bored but kept not completing them by a small margin :( mainly because disability support was inadequate of non existent.

The issue with my eyes can't be fixed with glasses :( cornea transplants only and with my Aspergers I would rub the itchy eye and damage the transplant sadly :(

All the companies like what you listed that are in my area demand an unmarked van or car of your own and a license as a job requirement since they drive to the clients houses.

Don't be turned off by the "3 to 5 years experience" ... sometimes if they're desperate to fill the job they'll overlook it. Also they might not give you the advertised job but there might be another one instead. So go ahead and apply anyway.

Oh, and I have a job for which the ad said masters degree required but I don't have a masters. So I speak from experience.
