I can't give practical advice because I don't really know about the American safety network for employment. Firstly, congratulations on getting your degree, it's something you should be proud of regardless of the fact that degrees no longer give a person an automatic edge when it comes to employment. You don't say what industry you are looking in but I think you should consider the option of volunteering if it's available. Even if it doesn't lead to a job volunteering can give you a taste of what is out there and provide a network to motivate you and help you become known.
Look after paying the rent first but don't give up on your dreams either.
Hi Diamondgirl.Thank you for the congrats on getting my degree.....i went through a lot to get that degree.Too bad the degree did not help me get a job.I want to work in the oil and gas fracking business as a worker for a few years.I dont really like the idea of volunteering because you dont get paid.
But my goal and ambition is to be a serial entrepreneur full time so the whole working thing would only be temporary.
I am thinking about giving up on trying to get a job because the state supported services have not helped me and i lost my caseworker recently.I dont think the state of Texas will get me a good job.I just get down some times because i feel hopeless about having no job and not having anything to do.I dont want to work a mcjob because then my degree would of been wasted.College was a waste in my case.I just wish college was still the meal ticket it used to be.I really wish i would never gone to college.
