old people and preepie high schoolers with good grades and athleticness. I tryed to work at several places but everybody turns me down or mistakes me as on of those
autistic people who don`t have a life that are living off social securuty. My bold voice and clumsiness might say that.

humm... I don't suppose you know how many jobs I have been fired from, how many times security has walked me out the door in mid meltdown, how I have painfully, despairingly picked myself up again and tried and tried and tried.
forgive me if I share my experience, and hope. I have found that only self control of my "Aspie traits" will allow me to sustain continuous employment, and my co workers can make hundreds of mistakes and I only need to make one, and poof. . I am gone.
I realize that NTs have sympathetic nerves and when someone with our intense concentrated emotional outbursts go off, NTs just wig out and have to get rid of the 'cause' of their uncomfortableness. But I also know that it is not ONE ISOLATED INCIDENT that gets us fired.
I am not saying it isn't an Aspie trait. I am saying that Aspie traits like this aren't acceptable in the workplace and they are not going to change their ways for a statistically minute section of the population.
As much as I sympathise with MoelKing, I am also practical in the ways of the world. Sorry if I don't come off as 'supportive' of Aspie traits. I am 'supportive' of how to keep from being fired.

I picked up the pattern early and decided 'why bother'? I mean, what's the point of remaining in the rat race if it causes so much suffering? After a few meltdowns and the like, I said 'screw it, life's too short' and went on SSDI. I still freelance, but I work from home. It pays little, but SSDI isn't going to fire/drop me for not fitting into the majick mold. That's a big chunk of anxiety that is no longer eating at my life span. I don't understand why more of us don't apply for SSDI and reclaim some quality of life.
Unless you have to support someone, then I guess it's a problem....

I am 47 and have had 40 different jobs in my adult life.
Yep, I counted them ALL.
Only been fired from two (for tardiness), and up until this current job (5 YEARS... YAHOO!), I never lasted more than 3 years.
Even in the Army, I only lasted 11 month, 2 weeks and 2 days. Just got sick of the b.s., I really liked stalking about the woods in my green uniform, carrying a gun just like my movie heroes! I also liked jumping out of planes and helicopters.
Anyway, the current employer has put up with some amazing stuff on my part, as far as my ADD/HD 'traits'.
If they put me on the work schedule for a day I don't normally work... they'll probably need to call me at home and remind me to come in... "Uh hello, Mark? Did you forget you were on the schedule to work today at 10? Could you please come in right away?"
Sometimes I'll head off to another area of the lab to do something and totally forget I was going to another area of the lab to do something. I wind up somewhere else, doing something else.
Fortunately, I'm not so wacky that I wind up seriously hurting people. This would be TOTALLY unacceptable to me.
I have caused a patient or two to have to have a test done that I didn't notice on the original order (again, usually because of something out-of-the-ordinary like a lab request form from a different place - looks totally different in design and lists of tests), which meant they had to come in and get stuck a second time.
That really bums me out and once when I felt I was to blame for a lady having to be drawn not twice.. but three times.. I got so upset that I hit my fist on a wooden cabinet door.
Since I usually don't display any anger at work, this freaked everyone out and I had to be 'counseled' about rage and anger
even though after hitting the door (out of sight of the patient), I said outloud that I was just upset with myself.
I left the lab to go hide in the bathroom and calm down.
I am amazed that this place has kept me for 5 years! Who would have thunk it?
My ADD/HD 'traits' have caused me to punch holes in walls and windows at different jobs before. Funny thing is that the two places this happened, I was responsible for paying to fix or wound up fixing, the damage myself and had no reprimands at work.
I do tend to work really hard and usually I work a bit off the clock too. So maybe I'm not such a bad investment?
For the OP... has there been an update on any new jobs for you?

LIBRARIES... Hardware stores for the mind
No (although I've also only left jobs voluntarily). Since I work in quality assurance, those traits are seen as somewhat desirable, plus I'm actually good at mimicking and can function socially for the most part. It also helps that I work in a small segment of my industry and know my suppliers and customers personally.
My current coworkers aren't very social anyway, so I don't have to work hard at getting along.
well i got a new job worked there for three weeks. it is at mcdonalds . it is alright they put me in a spot were i dont have to deal with the public . and i work early shifts. which means no teenagers to piss me off. they starting yesterday put me in the mangmet training program . because i work hard show up and am polite. i hope it goes well. but being fired taught me to still look for other jobs.

Unfortunately, throwing/breaking stuff is not acceptable behaviour at any workplace, no matter how well you can or can't control your emotions or reactions. The trick is to find a job that causes you the least amount of stress. My two favourite jobs ever were at the warehouse of a small, family-owned company where all I did all day was walk around putting together peoples' orders, and working third-shift at Petco unloading the truck and stocking the shelves. In both cases, although we had to work quickly enough to get everything done, the pace wasn't chaotic and there were no interruptions. There were also no customers in the store, and very few other people working.
I've been fired from a job in retail for not making eye contact and smiling enough- apparently polite words and making sure the customers' needs are met isn't enough unless you plaster on a fake smile too. My next job almost fired me for the same reason, but they decided to move me to the warehouse instead, which was a stroke of genius.
My current job is an Aspie nightmare!! ! I work at a pizza place as a prep cook and on the makeline. I like doing prep work, but I'm constantly getting interrupted by customers. When we are busy I can't take the time to top the pizzas nicely and evenly, which drives me nuts. Worst of all, the makeline is set up in the front of the store (like Subway, basically) and people will stand and STARE, watching us make the pizzas. I hate that! We also have to work in very close proximity to each other. Fortunately I work with my mom, so at least I have someone I'm comfortable talking with. Otherwise I'd have probably quit by now.
Unless there is no valued in the damages, there is no reason for firing you.
You said that the crates was broken, are they twisting the fact that you broke it?
In some case, we need to control our own temper.
In my life, I tried not to lose tempers or being a disruptive workers. I quit after the customer told my employer to not come back cleaning. The reason was that they "thought" I was messing around. I was like keeping my mind occupy while cleaning the hallway by looking at photo that would have been display in the public. So it seem that paranoia is the main cause of why I lost that position.
Hyperbolic--As for references the original poster is lucky in that regard. Like any other major company, when it receives calls for references, all they will do is verify salary and dates of employment. Nothing more, nothing less. They don't want to be sued, so they will not comment on performance. So Wal-Mart won't provide negative feedback about why the company let him go.
Actually this is why a serial killer who was a nurse avoided being caught by the police for so long. In the northeastern PA/western NJ area hospitals and temp agencies kept firing this nurse, whose patients were dying under "questionable" circumstances. However, when each new company would call the previous employer, they would only receive salary information and duration of employment.

It's also dangerous to suggest that just because someone may have AS, they can be excused of violent outbursts. He admitted flat out he PUSHED the pickles over in anger. An accident is one thing, this is another.
I can understand the anger - ripped pants, crummy job; I'd get angry too. Pushing over a bunch of product in anger and destroying them is NOT acceptable behaviour, and if it's "because of a condition" that would suggest it can never be corrected, so should not be hired by anyone.
