This is one of my great discoveries in life. Banks pay you to open a checking account. I got $300 last month from Wells Fargo.

If you're interested, here's a list of banks that will do it.

I tell you... the money is real. I don't do it every year, but I have done two since the pandemic, Chase and Wells Fargo.

We get these offers in the mail from chase & 5/3. Done it once. Be aware that you should receive a 1099 from the bank for the income. Drain & close the account. Repeat a couple years later. My mom loves these. I don't due to the long term tracking & organization such requires.

I did it only twice, second time because I discovered Chase does not have a branch within 30 miles of me. That's a problem, because I like to keep cash on hand. That is the main reason I closed my account with Chase and went with Wells Fargo. They have a branch about 5 miles walk from my house, and the people are friendly there too. I saw the $300 get credited to my account just last month. Ka-ching.

I don't make a habit out of it, because it's a bit of a hassle. You do work for the money, but the work is well-paid. I reckon I spent about 2 hours tops.

This was a few years ago, but I got $200 for signing up for a credit card with Chase.
