I'm 17 years old, unemployed, and an Aspie. I've been looking for a job for about 2 years to try and save money for college, but no luck. :( Most entry level jobs seem to be very socially oriented...

I'm 22 (almost 23), and I'm unemployed. I have a Bachelor's degree, and not even minimum wage jobs call me for interviews. I've also been applying for jobs 1,200 miles away and nobody calls me back.

I'm 30 years old, unemployed, and very likely an Aspie.

I was in sales for several years but I left because I couldn't stand the people I worked with or having to try to convince someone to buy something they already expressed interest in. Unfortunately, when you're in an area with 14% unemployment that means you have a very hard time getting a new job outside the industry. I'd like to go on disability and work on learning to code for a living but I don't think I'd qualify without a formal diagnosis. And since I have no insurance, I can't afford to be diagnosed. Kind of a chicken and egg question.

I'm 33, unemployed, and Aspie. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and I graduated with honors. Currently, I'm getting help from different agencies to help me find a job. I'm also working with my career counselor from school. Finding a job has been hard, even with a degree. I inquired about a library job, and they told me that 200 other people had already applied, but I could send them my resume if I wanted. I also applied for a job at a hospital where I used to volunteer, and I didn't here anything from them. I tried volunteering at a local food pantry, but they kept moving and the groceries were too heavy for me. (I have a bad back). Finding any kind of work, paid or volunteer, is difficult.

I'm 44, unemployed, relatively unskilled and uneducated. However, I'm expecting to hear back, possibly next thursday, if I succeeded in getting a job packing shelves in a supermarket. Good to have a job, but I'm so depressed that packing shelves is all I'm good enough for.

Im 38 and unemployed I havent worked since I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome in 2004. I was working in the Music Industry for 20 years. I would love to get back into the Music Industry again but not doing Roadie work like I did for many years, just working in a recording studio making coffees would do, even working out the back of a music store doing orders to working on a computer in a office all day to helping fix mixers to speakers and amps all day. I have a business music management certificate, basic music business management certificate and a certificate in sound engineering. I learnt on the job as well. But Im willing to take a job working in the local comic store selling comics and science fiction figurines and merchandise to working in a computer gaming store. Just looking for someone to give me a go.

Do NOT, I repeat, NOT define yourself by your job! You are from what I saw here, a good person, so do not put yourself down like that...

I'm 26, unemployed and and an Aspie. Here in PA they have a program through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to help the disabled to either find a suitable job or receive the training to begin a new career. I've had my preliminary interview for the program and am awaiting a battery of tests to determine my suitability and needs. I hope this goes through and helps me advance. I'm sick of living in the glass cage of the increasingly bureaucratic "assistance" framework.
