Just think of what you'd wear on a date if you wanted to impress a guy, though conservatively.

Jeans, some boots, and a sweater?

What about my mane?

Ditch the jeans...you want a business casual look for the job you are applying for.. ( i assume).. what kind of job at the gas station would you be doing?

All I can say is I've never not hired an interviewee because they were wearing jeans--or khakis as long as they are pressed and in good condition. But I will say this is just my opinion.

The most important part of the interview is, well, the interview. It's whether or not you can convince them that you can do the job and not cause problems--in this case that you will help them make money with a minimum of headaches.

Not disagreeing. I think business casual is what we were both going for anyways..seems like the best bet. Yeah, the interview is what its all about...

People say I'm articulate, and have a nice vocabulary.
I'll do my darndest to convince that I'm not a hooligan.

Thank you both so much!

Will post pictures in the AM, with time for change before I leave if something is amiss.

You didn't ask, but to help you, I'll offer the following interview advice: Like a good cop, the shrewd interviewer will ask open-ended questions and encourage you to talk. What you say is what will be scrutinized, as well as your overall comportment.

So, unless you are an aspie who has developed a charming personality, I would be as brief in my answers as possible, while giving them a good answer to their question. What I'm getting at is never volunteer any information the interviewer doesn't specifically ask for. The lawyers like to say that if you are asked for the time, do not tell the inquirer how to build a watch: tell them the time.

Thank you very much for the advice-
I can be quite charismatic, conversationally.

It's just everything else I'm clueless about.

I'd say dress nice casual. Like a collared shirt and slacks with decent shoes will typically do. Regardless its still a job interview, u don't want to look bad but don't go overboard either cause your not interviewing for an office job.

So...it would seem that the position they were interviewing for has already been filled, and someone forgot to take the signs down.

:?

~sigh~

Oh, well. At least it got me motivated. I'll keep looking.

Sorry to hear. No need to delete...perhaps some of the tidbits mentioned could help someone reading the thread. Always chalk it up to experience. Keep looking.
