I know exactly where you're coming from DannyDarkHorse, when I was working for a company years ago, I went there to 'actually work' not socialise and became a supervisor fairly quickly. The company I worked for had 'social end of month' meetings where they made you team bond and I hated that, I couldn't see the point. Everyone else loved the opportunity to slack off and play games, I just wanted to work.
In the end my 'attitude' caused me to be bullied and singled out by other employees... it wasn't worth it for the pittance I received as a supervisor so I handed the title back and was able to retreat and watch from my not so lofty position, three months later my whole shift was retrenched...go figure.

But it was actually the best thing that ever happened to me because it forced me to look at what I already had and I'm in a really good place now. Self employment is so rewarding and I get to call the shots, I don't have to force myself to 'play' stupid games and I have control of my direction.

Maybe DannyDarkHorse can direct a movie based on Fourth Reality, my science fic/fantacy book set in today's world, that'd be an interesting project since the hero's in the story all have strong Aspie traits that prove to be an asset not a hindrance to achieve their purpose in life. Just a thought

I've been trying jobs for years that didn't work out. I have a Masters in English, most of the work I tried was with people. It really didn't work, i've been having a hell of a time trying to find anything.
But, my special interest is writing (thus the MA in English) So I've started freelancing and blogging online for money. I'm only starting out, and it takes time to make real money, but it suits me so well. I don't have to deal with people face to face, I'm pretty obsessed with writing, so I'm really excited and happy.

As of today i am a tourism advisor for an international hotel chain. basically, people call me up and i convince them about australia being a great holiday destination and then i sell them holiday packages/ corperate packages to stay at the chain of hotels. As I just got it today, I am yet to discover if it is a good job or not, but even if it is crap, i will stick it out for 12 months for my resume. :D

You know what? That sounds great :) if I manage to establish myself as a serious filmmaker I'd love to adapt your book. Is this book available to read? or is it a work in progress?
