I have terrible time in office functions i stopped attending them a couple of months ago. I havent attended a single function, outing, quarterly meeting etc.
Simply because i dont have a friend. I dont know with whom to sit, i would have to eat my lunch alone, already i am ostracised and people dont talk with me.
There are games and contest going on with all that singing and dancing and everyone just makes a joke out of me. I look like a black sheep out there.
A total misfit and now no one even bothers to ask me why i didnt turn up or why i deleted my facebook account
etc.
Its like they almost dont count me.
Well in your case....if you already know the answers or have gut feeling of what is expected then better not go and goof up or look like a joke out there.

It seems like an easy way to get brownie points even if you don't stay to long or don't talk to much.

I challenge myself hard enough to just go to work every day, besides, I've been having a rough time the past few weeks and it has really gotten to me. Thanks for all the advice on everything, but I don't think I have the energy or the inner strength to do that at the moment.

I attended Christmas dinner at one of my old voluntary placements and found it quite enjoyable however i had to leave half way through as it clashed with my work preparation course which was quite important.

I am actually a member of the Holiday Party committee were I work. We fund-raise and and help plan the holiday party, so I will definitely be going to it. You should go it would be fun, I get annoyed at people who keep refusing to attend ours.
