For bully-impressing-purposes it's definitely not much. More importantly, it's not enough to never have to work again, either - unless you're already near the end of your life or can live very cheaply. Ten million is more like it. But 1 is a start.
Having said that, $72,800 is the mean wage of those working full time. The median wage of all workers is $46,900 - quite a difference. So I don't think reaching a net worth of $1m is really within the reach of the average Australian.
