I had three previous jobs. The first two each lasted two months, and my third job lasted seven months. All of those jobs were temporary positions, and that's why there were so short-lived.

I've had two jobs where I was there for 8 years. That's actually a long time since the average in my field is two years. People tend to move in technology to stay up with the new technology. If they don't, they become archaic in their skills and unemployable.

9 years. I quit that job when my children were born. If you're willing to count what I do now as a job (home school, homemaking), that would be 12 years.

I worked in a supermarket graveyard shift all through college for 6 years. The company went under.
I worked an accounting postion for 7 years, then quit after a change in management. (Dumbest thing I ever did. I should have at least tried to stick it out. I loved the work.)
In the past 2 years, I had 2 jobs for a few months each. One I tried to keep despite the difficulties I was having adjusting, and only made matters worse, much much worse. It's impossible to explain AS to some managers, especially if you're like me and have trouble dealing with managers to begin with.

It's very common for Aspies to have problems with authority figures.

3 years seems to be about average for me. Not counting the Navy (that was an assortment of different schools and different jobs/stations) I've held a multitude of jobs lasting less than 2 months, but I worked at Taco Bell for almost 3 years (leaving because I wasn't promoted and the new manager made me paranoid.) Then I worked at an office supply store for just over 3 years (I left there when my father died and my world fell apart), moved immediately to a bookstore, where I worked at 4 locations for a total of 5 years, 3 of them at the same location. After i left town and came back, I discovered they didn't have any openings for me, so i did temp wiork for 4 months before getting hired in at my current job, where I have worked for about 3 1/2 years.

I am currently trying to find something in another location, or find a way to get back to college and finish my degree. I don't make enough to go to school now, but I like my job, I just want to move out of Florida.
