My job only requires a high school diploma. Even today, though there is a preference for "some college."

However, in reality (I hate to say it), where I work is now a pretty "plum" place to work, and most new people have Bachelor's degrees. One person even has a Master's.

I got my Bachelor's in 2006 in something totally unrelated to data entry.

What sort of degrees do they have? Are they related to the area of industry the data entry relates to?

Timing is a factor. You have an easier time getting in when the economy is booming and there are a lot of employers looking for new hires
