I clicked-through to the Survey Monkey link. I was wondering what kinds of questions are past number 13, but didn't want to click on "Next" and possibly screw up your numbers. Is there any way to see what I might be in for before getting a unique ID?

EDIT: Got the question number wrong the first time.

I can send you the questions in a word doc to view first, but if you decide to actually do the survey it would be easier for both of us if you entered it into the online survey.

But it wouldn't be a big deal if you went ahead and started. I could give you an identifier and you would not send the consent form back until you were sure you liked your responses. Send me a direct message or email me to get an identifier.

I will also pull anyone's data if they later decide they do not want to participate, even if I already have the signed consent and completed survey.

Thank you! It's just the first day, but so far the WP community has much more open, interested, and nice than trying to put up fliers and explain it to people in real life.

Honestly if you approached me in real life with a flyer I probably wouldn't participate.

Okay, I've just sent my signed, consent form----you'll know it's me, cuz I always sign in purple ink.

BTW, I like your name----it really fits you / your face.

I just happened to think that you might want to ask the moderators for permission to duplicate your OP in GAD, to ensure your getting your "40-50" participant goal.

I don't feel guilty about NOT disclosing it.
Same here, especially when someone wants their lab rats test subjects to participate without being paid.

He didn't mean he didn't believe in disclosing for this SURVEY----he meant he didn't believe in disclosing, at WORK.

Thanks all!

What I've been doing with the fliers is asking retail businesses if I can put them on their public bulletin boards and/or in their break rooms. I've been getting a lot of success with the break rooms.

I'm also putting them up on public notice boards at places like coffee shops, convenience stores, and all the local colleges here.

I'm not handing them to anyone, unless it's someone I know. If it were me, I wouldn't take it either. I also won't put them on cars because I hate it when people do that to me.

ALSO: I have alternate, full anonymity instructions for anyone who would like them. I had to change my wording from "anonymous" to "confidential" to suit my university, but there is still a way for me to let you do it and you don't have to tell me your real name.

Okay, I just completed your survey, and sent my responses; but, it didn't say anything, like: "We have received your survey"----so, didju get it?

SocOfAutism - If there are some interesting response "areas", I would love to see those posted as topics, so we can discuss. I am always interested in understanding how others "make progress" (for lack of a better word) in the world.

I will indeed do that after I have ended data collection and am finishing the thesis and prepare to submit for publication.

Campin_Cat: Nice talking to you today! That's a good point, I'll see if I can make it do something like that. I may not be able to since it's already collected responses.

I'm bumping my own topic because I'm expecting to start in about a week and a half.

This is an anonymous survey, and my purpose is to gather the experiences of autistic people who have either disclosed their autism status at work or in a volunteer position or decided not to. I want to explore the factors behind this decision and its importance. My secondary purpose is to show that people on the autism spectrum are present and authoritative in the workforce.

I will be seeking to publish these results in an academic journal.

I spent my entire working life NOT KNOWING I was Aspergers. It definitely would have helped me knowing this as I found it increasingly difficult to cope with people. I decided to leave the workforce early and live frugally and be happy. This has worked for me. I don't think I would have disclosed this in the workplace unless I was still in my naive phase. If I had disclosed it, I would have regretted it. NT's in general CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
