Well, wouldn't advise it for everyone, but I'm a combat veteran with extensive training with private companies as well. I've been around firearms my whole life, and practice constantly.
Also, dogs are good, as well as any other security measure. With all my firearms training, it is a burden, and I am more careful and polite when I carry. If my gun comes out, there was no other option. I'd rather use diplomacy and defuse the situation if I can. I don't feel like a badass when I carry a gun, it is a large responsibility.
