They wanted to bribe me to tell them everything I knew about protestors and stuff. They think we are like terrorists or something!

DREAM JOB: Professor of Philosophy and Neuroscience at Cambridge, Oxford, MIT, Caltec, Johns Hopkins, Sydney, ANU or Arizona University. one of them. Or maybe the Ecole De Normale if i ever learn french well enough hehehehehe!

VJ. I get to mess around making loads of wierd pictures and video clips, have an excuse to buy insanely powerful graphics hardware for my computer, and totally geek out wiring up a projector, several computers and monitors, midi controllers and cameras every gig. The best bit is I get payed to go to festivals and parties, and no-one complains when I spend the entire night sat at a computer, so I get to socialise as much as I want (and I get to ignore the girls who approach me who have no interest in VJing , because I need to focus on what I'm doing, while the ones who are interested can join in on computer #2).

thats cool, i am one of them! i have yet to get paid for it though! I get paid to DJ often.

Librarian or work in a bookshop

Ive worked in a bookshop, it is pretty cool, but its also torture. Like serious torture........... believe me. Because of all the books around and all the work you have to get done you never get to read the books!! !! !! IT kILLS YOU!! !! !! !! !! !! ! but otherwise its a pretty good job.

I think the better thing would be to own the bookstore! but of course, you could just live in a library.... its really the same thing as owning the bookstore but with less stress!.

My dream job would be being a powerchair dealer / rehab technology specialist... not any "socialization" involved... take the prescription from the patient, run the evaluation, then they get the hell out of your office and you order it. it comes in, you program it and then you have your delivery boys deliver.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

wow, I was the customer service one, and I was the gal that worked the drive through at the fast food joint, and then I was a waitress, and a housekeeper is like a janitor and then I owned part of a restaurant so that was the business and I was a dancer for money, but I didn't take it off (well, not all of it) and it's not healthy being a police informant, but my good Aspie friend, chuck, was the marine.

oh, yeah, and I was a SLAVE in every one of those jobs, too!

I wish you better in your life.

I have been in and out of 2-3 jobs over the past few years, and it does not look good on a resume. I am a high-tech Ph.D. and really revolted against all the 'program meetings' and multitasking. I just got another position working for a well-known company and have been pretty happy so far. The difference? I spend most of my time in my cube, solving problems my way, interacting with my boss (who listens and is supportive) or to others who are just as geeky as I am. No more salesmen. No more executives. No more marketing types.

This experience has convinced me I really am AS. And the point of all this? Seek out a job which is solitary. It really helps.
