The first rich people got rich by robbing others. Yes i talk about the nobility who then emerged. Now many rich people are and especially those in power related to nobility. Many of these are pure psychopaths, psychopathic bloodlines if you will. They still rob the poor, just more subtle. You can pay mortgages on minimum wage? Because Janitors especially in the us do not make much more than that.

Wow. ignorance AND hate, in just a few sentences. I'm impressed!

Not all unskilled jobs pay minimum wage, especially after the first year. The restaurant industry has people who started as bussers and worked their way up to chef or even owner. Every janitor has a boss, and those bosses had to start somewhere.

The janitors at my old high school sent their kids to college.

You live in Switzerland, right? How could you possibly know anything at all about conditions in the USA? It's becoming more and more obvious that you are more interested in arguing your opinions than you are in resolving your situation -- just like those others who complain that they cannot get girlfriends, and who then argue endlessly against any helpful suggestion.

Get up, get out, and get a job.

Some of the disdain for low skill work can come from parents' influence. I tried going to college in my 30s to get a better job and my parents encouraged me to try that. It didn't work out and I wound up living at their place.

I eventually got a job at Walmart and my mom was actually mad that I was just working in a grocery deli with my 2 year degree. They want to see me succeeding and saw this as a huge failure. I mean it wasn't my intention to make Walmart my career at the time, but at least I was try to bring in income.

Just wonder if Fos11 could be getting a similar message and that's largely where views like this can come from or that low skill workers failed at life somehow.

For what it's worth, I'm now a truck driver with a chance at some kind of decent income.

But not without going into debt right? Look there are people who cant even afford nice food in the us. And they do often times work. Yes i do infact hate psychopaths. And what type of job should i exactly get? There are not many unskilled jobs.

My first paying job was a newspaper route. I knocked on doors and sold subscriptions. It wasn't a job requirement but it was a great learning experience. I also learned how to collect money. With those skills I had no trouble helping out an uncle, filling in for someone taking vacation and selling newspapers on a busy street corner.

The experience helped my graduate from a very good high school and then a top college. I got a job in my special interest that, while the starting pay wasn't so great, I've gotten pay raises every year for the past three decades, so I now make several times my starting pay. I've saved enough to retire whenever I get tired of working.

Oh yeah, I had a catastrophic accident two decades ago. If I "did nothing" I could have gone on disability, collecting 60% of my salary. Instead I worked really hard and made a full recovery.

Maybe this could focus on the short term? I'm not sure if other people's successes in the past under different economy conditions are convincing? I think there is a prevalent feeling of stagnant wages in the face of higher cost of living which is understandably discouraging.

Just to keep it basic, yeah some low skill jobs are soul crushing either from boredom or lack of being challenged or from dealing with dickhead customers or sometimes co-workers. I do think Custodial work tends to be more solitary and that IMO is a way to deal with the least amount of people. How much cleaning work sucks can vary. You might even get away with cleaning while wearing earbuds and at least have some escapism from the dull tasks of cleaning.

You might be able to work in an office after hours when every one is gone. Some custodial jobs are a way to have more autonomy that way; as long as the work gets done, you're left alone.

Beyond that is a concern of being able to afford food and housing. There might be reasonable options on Craigslist or check into government subsidized housing programs or income based rent apartments. I'm not sure if those are available in your location.

Also, TBH one of my first jobs was over night janitor in a shopping mall and it really wasn't that bad. Easy work, but low pay. I'm not sure how I could have afforded housing so fortunately I was staying with my parents at the time. I did have one co-worker who became a friend who was living with his parents as well. If I really needed to, I might have been able to workout something with him as a roommate.
